Getting Here

River of Rest is nestled in California's beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains on the Hamilton Branch of the Feather River at Lake Almanor. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Plumas National Forest and just outside Lassen Volcanic National Park, our peaceful location offers the perfect setting to slow down, disconnect from the demands of everyday life, and enjoy God's creation.

While we're tucked away in a quiet mountain community, we're still an easy drive from several major destinations:
-
Approximately 3 hours from Sacramento
-
Approximately 2 hours from Reno-Tahoe International Airport
-
Approximately 1½ hours from Chico
We recommend renting a car if you're flying into the area, as public transportation is limited. The journey is part of the experience, with scenic mountain roads, forests, rivers, and lakes welcoming you as you make your way to River of Rest.
Limited public transportation is available through:
-
Sage Stage – Regional transportation serving communities throughout northeastern California. (Their schedule includes 3 trips a week from Reno airport to nearby Susanville.)
-
Lassen Rural Bus – Transportation services within Lassen County and surrounding areas.

If you have questions about travel, transportation, or planning your visit, we're happy to help make your journey to River of Rest as smooth and welcoming as possible.
